SYNOPSIS:
After a highly successful debut production in the fall that garnered recognition in the Houston Chronicle’s “Best of 2009,” Horse Head Theatre Co. is poised to bring Houstonians another exciting theatrically-designed experience. Horse Head Theatre Co. presents Fault Lines running for three weekends opening Thursday, March 11 at the Brewery Tap in the heart of downtown. Written by New York playwright Stephen Belber, Fault Lines has not been seen in Houston before. In line with the company’s mission, Horse Head Theatre’s goal with all of its shows is to create a theatrical presentation that reinvigorates the soul and reawakens the human spirit. Horse Head productions begin and end with ceremonial rituals and create opportunities for audiences to break the traditional code of theatre etiquette.

What starts out as just a regular night at a bar between two old friends reaffirming their friendship over a few drinks, turns into a confusing night of frustration, deceit, lies and unwelcome truths. Horse Head Theatre Co.’s take on Fault Lines will be a night at the bar with a riveting story – where the lines between performer and viewer are barely visible.

Starring Ivy Castle-Rush (Jess), Philip Lehl (Joe), Rick Silverman (Jim), and Drake Simpson (Bill). Live music with original score by Houston's toe-tappin’, head-bobbin’, foot-stompin, dance floor-bouncin’, slap yo mama in the face funk band PLUMP.

SYNOPSIS:
Horse Head Theatre Co. presents Red Light Winter as its premiere production running for three weekends beginning Thursday, September 24 at Frenetic Theater just east of downtown. Written by Adam Rapp, Red Light Winter has not been seen in Houston before. Horse Head Theatre will create an exceptionally new and engaging theatre-going opportunity for Houston audiences by creating a completely designed experience. Horse Head Theatre’s goal with all of its shows is to create a theatrical presentation that reinvigorates the soul and reawakens the human spirit. Horse Head productions begin and end with ceremonial rituals and create opportunities for audiences to break the traditional code of theatre etiquette.

The story of Red Light Winter centers on misplaced affections between long time friends Matt and Davis, and an enigmatic Amsterdam prostitute, Christina. All three characters have flaws that they are aware of but do nothing to change. Because of this unwillingness to change, each character sends their emotions in a tragically wrong direction, creating an end sequence that rips out your heart with rage, disgust, pity, and complete stupor.

Collaborating artists Anthony Contello, Zachary Doss, Andrew Harper, Karen Heimbaugh, Kevin Holden, Elisabeth Bancroft Wessel Meindl, Matthew Schlief, Robert Thoth, Frank J. Vela and more work together to transform the space into a life-sized whirling version of the streets and sounds of Amsterdam’s red light district and Manhattan’s East Village. Local artist Brian Beken has composed an original soundtrack for the show. Houston actors Amy Burn (Christina), Troy Schulze (Matt), and Drake Simpson (Davis) star in Red Light Winter.

Produced through special arrangement with Broadway Play Publishing Inc. The script to this play may be purchased from BPPI at www.BroadwayPlayPubl.com.

29-95: The tag line reads, “exotic. altering. tantric. explosive.” Care to explain?
KH: These are words to describe passionate sex, a good art experience should be quite similar.

CONTRIBUTING DESIGNERS: Anthony Contello, Andrew Harper, Kevin Holden, Matthew Schlief, Drake Simpson, Robert Thoth and Frank J. Vela.

SPECIAL THANKS to Stagelight Inc., Saint Arnold Brewing Company, Alley Theatre, Frenetic Theater/FrenetiCore, KamGen Consulting, Rice University, RockSteady Productions, Spacetaker, Stages Repertory Theatre, University of Houston, Beau Brotherton, Jeremy Choate, Manolo Mata, Danny Painter, Louie Saletan and Nancy Wozny.
